The inscription is retrograde and is located 3.50 meters from the entrance of the enclosed area (southeast).

Execution: chiselled.

Palaeography

Letters of the archaic alphabet of Thera: Alpha: vertical stroke divergent, diagonal crossbar. Ny: second and third bars shorter than the first one

third bar divergent. San: used for the sibilant sound.

Commentary

The name in this form is not otherwise attested in Greece, while it appears with the Ionic-Attic vocalism as Ἀντιστάτης in one case from Euboea (5th century BCE) and in two cases from Athens, and as Ἀντίστασις in one case from Samos (dated to 500-480 BCE) and in two cases from Thasos (from the 5th and 2nd centuries BCE).
